Choosing the recipients of annotations

You can choose which of the other users on your workspace can view your annotations. This can be done from the To drop-down menu from the Annotation Editor.

The To menu allows you to select recipients for your annotation.

Opening this menu will display all of the recipients on the workspace. By default, your annotation will be shared with ‘All viewers’. If you wish to share the annotation with some users, but not others, tick the checkbox next to the name of each viewer that you wish to share it with.

Click the Save button to confirm your selections. The Annotation Box will display the names of all users with whom the annotation is shared.

The list of recipients who can view an annotation is displayed at the bottom of the Annotation Box.

By selecting to a person can choose which of the users are able to view their annotations. This is a good tool to use when you only want certain people to be able to view annotations. There is a default for everyone to be able to view so that you do not have to set up the recipients individually.

Do I understand correctly that my annotations will not be shared with others unless I select the TO option? I would hate for others to be bothered by my notes on all articles.

This is a helpful option for group projects. I like the fact the annotation can be shared within a group of people, which allows the approved users to have access to your notes and sections of the articles that you have highlighted as important content. I also like the idea that I can block or delete users from see what I have selected in the context of the article. - I love this option and really think it is helpful for people who choose to work together as a team.
